Charged Vacuum Condensate near a Superconducting Cosmic String
نویسندگان
چکیده
A charged superconductiong cosmic string produces an extremely large electric field in its vicinity. This leads to vacuum instability and to the formation of a charged vacuum condensate which screens the electric charge of the string. We analyze the structure of this condensate using the ThomasFermi method. Supersymmetry and gauge invariance constraints in a U(1) x U(1)'-Higgs superconducting cosmic string model.
A supersymmetric extension of the U(1)× U(1)′-Higgs bosonic superconducting cosmic string model is considered, where the action is constructed from scalar chiral and vector superfields. The chiral superfields are assumed to transform separately under the Abelian gauge groups, and the constraints imposed upon such a model due to renormalizability, supersymmetry, and gauge invariance are examined...
متن کاملFermionic vacuum polarization by a cosmic string in anti-de Sitter spacetime
In this paper we investigate the fermionic condensate (FC) and the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor, associated with a massive fermionic field, induced by the presence of a cosmic string in the anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. In order to develop this analysis we construct the complete set of normalized eigenfunctions in the corresponding spacetime. We consider a spec...
متن کاملVacuum Polarization at Finite Temperature around a Magnetic Flux Cosmic String
We consider a general situation where a charged massive scalar field φ(x) at finite temperature interacts with a magnetic flux cosmic string. We determine a general expression for the Euclidean thermal ∗electronic address: [email protected]
متن کاملSemiclassical Gravitational Effects in the Spacetime of a Magnetic Flux Cosmic String
It is well-known that some physical effects may arise in the spacetime of a straigth cosmic string due to its global conic properties. Among these effects, the vacuum polarization effect has been extensively studied in the litterature. In papers of reference [4] a more general situation has been considered in which the cosmic string carries a magnetic flux Φ and interacts with a charged scalar ...
متن کاملCosmic Strings in Supergravity
It is pointed out that various types of cosmic string solutions that exist in nonsupersymmetric and globally supersymmetric theories, such as D-type gauge strings, F-type global and gauge strings, and superconducting Witten strings, also exist in supergravity models. When the D term and superpotential satisfy some simple conditions allowing the determination of a set of vacuum states with nontr...
